Monday 14th May 2001 - Checkers' leaving do
It was a sad day for Chesham: Checkers - he of the monster flick and impressive injury record - was being transferred from RAF Naphill near High Wycombe to RAF Marham, in the wilds of the Norfolk yonder, and this would be the last we would see of him. Or so we thought - he frequently proved us wrong, with a continued attendance record more consistent than many native Chesham-ites!

Of course, both for being ex-Plymouth Uni, and for having finally earned his Touring and Drinking Club wings in the "Whipped In The Pit" trip to Paris the previous month, Checkers had a heavy weight of expected alcohol abuse to live up to, and live up to it he did: in style! A yard of ale was the challenge, and the challenge was met with aplomb!

Steady now . . .

A yard of ale: no problem!

nearly there . . .

... and then he did it again!!!

Don't try this at home, kids . . .

Going . . .

. . . going . . .

. . . gone! Again!

Alcoholic? Who, me?
