C.T.D.C Slovenia 2003 Team Handbook Slovenia

Kranj, Slovenia, 13th-18th February 2003

Pool: Olympic Pool, Kranj, Slovenia. Tel.: +386 64 22 40 40. Turn up the road by the water tower.
Accommodation: University Halls of Residence, 2/3 per dorm.
Address: "Dijaski in Studentski dom, Kidriceva cesta 53, Kranj, Slovenija". Tel.: +386 4 2010430.
Information and reservations: Grega Kernc, mobile: +386 41 812 399.

What

Tournament: Seventh annual "Memorial Bostjana Mesareca" invitation tournament held to honour Bostjana Mesareca, a diving member of the Kranj club who lost consciousness and drowned while performing breath-holding exercises during a club session five years ago. CTDC is honoured to be able to help keep her memory going.
Party: There will be a basic dinner at the pool, and then everyone is free to do their own thing around the (always lively) town. This year the tournament does NOT coincide with the "Pust", the four-hundred year old Slovenian tradition, whereby everyone dresses up in fancy dress for a whole week. And we mean a whole week! But I am sure we can make out own entertainment...

Travel Information

How to get from Ljubljana airport to Kranj (about 10 km / 6 miles):
        by bus (every hour: 7,00 - 8,00 ....18,00 - 19,00 and the last at 20,00)
        by taxi (the price is about 30 DEM) (Tel: ++386 64 261 678)
        by Rent-a-car (ABC - Tel: ++386 64 261 604)

By car: From Ljubljana/airport to Kranj take the Highway and turn off at KRANJ VZHOD (which means Kranj East). From there you will cross the river Kokra; keep going (over the crossroads) until the road runs out: the študentski dom is right in front of you.

To get to the pool, cross the river Kokra, and continue less than 100 metres (on the left side you will see a Water-tower) and turn right. Continue some 500 metres up this road, and when you have driven beyond all the houses turn right, and after some 100 metres turn again right: the Swimming pool will be right in front of you.

"Merchandise"

Costumes: We need a new look! have now virtually run out of CTDC swimsuits, but still have a few left. If you've not got a TDC costume, please let Martin know what size you'd like (email: martin@reedconsulting.com), and we'll try to fulfil all requests from the remaining stock.
T-Shirts: We will be ordering 10 shirts - 1 XL, 3 L, 5 M and 1 S. The price is £??.00 per shirt, for all sizes. We will have an appropriate logo to reflect what would have been our team theme in the Masquerade, and the shirt will have the usual commemorative blurb on the back. Wear them, swap them, honour them - they're achieving cult status everywhere.
