Stephanie:
When asked if she would have liked anything to have been different: "I'd have
liked to have gone to the party"
Eryl:
"We might have some active whatsits"
Martin, in the Parc Güell: "I want to see the lizard!". Eryl: "The
wonderful lizard of Oz!"
Steve:
Paul, having eaten garlic, to Steve: "Ah, so we get to say goodbye on the
plane?". Steve: "Yes, but no long, lingering kisses"
"Eryl Adams: 70% stomach and 30% gills"
To Helga: "Let me spit in your ears"
Paul:
"It just dribbles down your chest, and in twenty years, I've never worked out a
way to stop it"
Anton:
Martin: "Eryl was close with Paula". Plankton: "Paula, who's Paula?"
"They're bigger! These are bigger!"
"Let's get rid of this stuff and go and party all night!"
Martin:
"Pull out, Eryl, it's my turn now!"
- The party that never was, or that we were never set to find
- One tournament at three different pools, two with the same name
Andy, our super-human, robotic German friend. Next year he'll turn up with a milled-aluminium stick! Hasta la vista, baby!! He got to the strike first every time!
Helga the Valkyrie, who spits in your ear for good luck! Unfailing support from an underwater rugby player.
Ki, our "International Man of Mystery" (see photo above), Ki was conspicuously shy of any form of publicity, even going so far as to spend his entire time in the water with a mask covering his face . . .
Michelle's unfailing smile and eagerness to organise us - even stretching to the final banquet in our own vault in the barrel-lined "Restaurante los Caracoles". Definitely the cherry on the top.
Plankton did well, with the experience of only six weeks. He showed such willingness and eagerness to play, and he really got stuck in. And Martin did well for a player of 3! (Huh?)
And Stephanie, our toothless nine-year-old mascot, fed on a diet of very late nights, sweets and sangria!
