Sunday 8th April 2001
Sara: "So how long before we stop?".
Garry: "About sixty-five K".
Martin: "About forty miles"
Sara: "So how long's that in terms of time?".
Martin: "About ten minutes!"
We watched with amusement as another ferry tried to bust a gut to catch us and get into Dover before us, only for it to suddenly stop and let us through: obviously it had got a bit of a slapping from some higher authority!
Being now accustomed to Garry's driving, it was no surprise that we got back
to Chesham in less than two hours, although we were helped by the fact that we
had arrived back in the U.K. early enough to miss the Sunday evening traffic. However, we were
also greeted by something to which we were also well accustomed: British weather!
It just tipped it down . . .
The tour was finished off with a fine meal at the New Akash Indian Restaurant in
Berkhamsted where Garry went for the self-proclaimed "fatboy option"
with his curry ... extra chips!"
