Chesham Octopush Club made their second major trip this season when they went to the Dublin Club's first invitation international underwater hockey tournament.
Chesham took two teams of 10, three of them playing for the club for the first time, and ended up with the B team landing runners-up spot, outdoing the As who finished fourth.
The A team began by drawing 2-2 against Dublin in a match which pitted Chesham's skill against Dublin's knowledge of their own pool, and they went on to beat Brighton 1-0 with a late winner.
Chesham B gelled well and won their first two games before the two Chesham sides did battle. The game stayed goalless until the later stages when the B team struck twice to win 2-0.
This gave the Bs the confidence to go through their next three games with wins and into the tournament decider against Putney. Both teams had 100 per cent records but Chesham had no answer to the London side's fine play and lost 5-1.
The A team also lost to Putney and finished fourth, behind Dublin on goal difference.

Chesham Octopush Club opened the season last weekend by sending two teams to the annual invitation underwater hockey tournament in Bologna, Italy, which also featured teams from France, Slovenia and Hungary.
The match of the series for Chesham was the closely fought thriller between their own first and second teams.
The seconds took a shock lead, the firsts hit back to lead 2-1, but the seconds again rallied to make it 2-2. There was 30 seconds to go and two weary teams set off for one last attack. Mustering all his energy, Ed Eilerts de Haan, playing for the second team, reached the puck first and just kept going, through all six of the first team to force the puck in the goal for a memorable win for the seconds.
This put the two Chesham teams into second and third places in the play-offs, with the final seemingly within reach. However, they reckoned without a fired-up Bologna seconds who beat both Chesham teams in successive games for a place in the final against the eventual winners, the French men.
Both Chesham teams won all their remaining games to finish overall third and fifth a great result, and a great start to the season.
