Saturday 15th February 2003

Sara: "Just as we were getting up at 10 to 8 we found out that we had to be at the pool for 8.30 ish to play at 9 am. Much chaos and mayhem ensued and we all piled in the car (bit of a squash) to get to the pool on time. However, all the teams were there but no Slovenians. Time to get a chocolate or coffee from the bar and stoke up with a bit of breakfast.

Tournament started at 10 am. We had a very nice day playing 8 games, some teams not as good as us, and quite a few better. After 2 games we gelled well as a team and enjoyed ourselves. Even Wendy, who had only played 3 times before had a good time -she was given a stripy bat. After a great tournament we ended up 7th out of 15, and bottom of the top group of teams.

Sat around for a bit before Kim was adventurous and walked back to the lodgings. We all went to the Pizzeria with the Munich team and ate and drank large quantities. Then, most of the team went on to the Rock Cafe and drank even more large quantities! Quote, Garry, to the idea that there was a jacuzzi at the hotel we would be staying at on Sunday night, "oh no, oi don't have any trunks!" Followed by Kim's response of "Well deeeer!" "
