Sunday 16th February 2003

Sara: "Andy woke us up at 9 am and we all dressed warmly for a day on the slopes. Minus Bill and Wendy, who were nursing hangovers, we drove to a nearby ski resort known as Krvavec.

Up on the cable car and onto the resort, the boys sorted their skis while Sara and Kim hired a sledge! Off went the boys, not to be seen again for a few hours, while the girls found a good sledging spot.

Sara and Kim spent hours of fun wiping out and providing entertainment for the skiers. Including nearly crashing into a concrete wall, knocking over a snowboarder, wiping out a blow up tunnel, near death from a skidoo and jumping off the side of a small snow cliff, all in a sledge! The boys appeared to have a good time, stopping every now and again for a coffee break and re-fuel.

After a fun day, Sara was determined to learn to ski, and Kim wanted to have a go at snowboarding. Martin went back to the lodgings, Andy went home and Colin, Sara, Garry and Kim travelled to the Grand Toplice, a four star hotel in Bled.

We checked in and went for some serious chillout time in the relaxation centre which contained a pool filled with water from a mountain spring, a jacuzzi and Finnish, Turkish and infra-red saunas.

Dinner was at the small restaurant, Pri Planincu, just the other side of the lake. The food was delicious, as was the wine."
